Surface preparation begins with verifying the specified drywall finish level, fine sanding ridges and tool marks, and repairing imperfections. We remove dust with HEPA vacuuming and tack-wiping, set and fill any fasteners, mask adjacent finishes, and condition the space to proper temperature and humidity to promote optimal primer cure.
Primer is spray-applied for complete coverage and immediately back-rolled to lock down fibers and equalize porosity across board and joint compound. Edges and corners are cut in cleanly, problem spots are spot-primed, and drying is monitored so texture can proceed at the appropriate cure stage for the chosen system.
After drying, we perform cross-light inspections to catch any flashing, touch up as needed, and verify adhesion and uniformity before authorizing texture. This ensures orange peel, knockdown, or hand-applied textures build evenly, reducing callbacks and delivering a consistent, durable base for the final paint system.
